We offer a wide range of services tailored to the participants needs.

PERSONAL CARE

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE AND THE CLARENCE VALLEY

We provide in-home support including assisting participants with cooking, cleaning, food prep, budgeting, home and lawn maintenance, self-hygiene and monitoring/taking medications as prescribed

COMMUNITY ACCESS

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE AND THE CLARENCE VALLEY

We allow community access for our participants by way of taking them shopping, transport/attending appointments, transport/attending social groups and other outings/events

SUPPORTED INDEPENDANT

LIVING

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE AND THE CLARENCE VALLEY

We provide 24/7 residential supported independent living from 1:1 to 3:1 care

Head Leasing property for NDIS complex needs participants with intensive support up to 8hrs daily to assist them in building their capacity in sustaining their tenancy

COURT SUPPORT

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

We assist with advocacy/modelling self-advocacy and interpreting legal jargon/conversation with other court users (i.e. Police, solicitors, FACS, Juvenile Justice and others)

We also assist in connecting individuals with other community support and provide relevant referral pathways across all Human services sectors as per individual need.

WOMENS GROUP

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

We offer an in-house/external Women’s group. The Groups includes activities such as the Well-being Warriors attended by Justiz participants Fridays, Fishing, Fitness and Health, Food preparation/cooking; Arts and Craft/Sewing, Visiting Cultural Sites, Access to Elders and Community Leaders and Support Groups including our Mentoring program.

MEN’S GROUP

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

We offer an in-house/external Men’s group. YOUTH GROUP

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

We offer an NNN program group for Young People addressing the use of violence in their family and community. Our Aboriginal Mentor Program assists and provides ongoing support to young people both pre- and post- court to connect and maintain connection with support providers (i.e. Health, education, employment, counselling and/or groups). 80% of participants in the Youth Group have not re-entered the justice system after 6 to 12 months.

We also provide One-on-One Aboriginal Mentoring for Young people residing in Residential Care and under the care of the Minister. We help them re-establish strong Aboriginal community connections; assist with safe contact with family; Heal through the medium of art, music and dance; access to elders, aunts and uncles and other men and women’s support groups.

COMMUNITY CONNECTOR

NDIS ACCESS

Justiz assists local Aboriginal People through primary supports or referral pathways to gather relevant evidence base and connection to appropriate GP channels to apply for a NDIS plan to support them with their disability and capacity building.

ABORIGINAL MENTORING

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

We provide mentoring that is individualised support for Aboriginal children, young people and adults who are struggling emotionally with day to day, relationships, life choices and activities. Our Mentor assists in creating opportunities for Aboriginal participants to re-engage back into local Aboriginal community, their family and social groups. We support  re-establishing cultural connections and allow further exposure/participation in a range of cultural/generic activities to improve participants emotional well-being.

We also facilitate One-on-One or Group Healing art sessions that generate discussions and provide resources for struggling, isolated and traumatised Aboriginal Children, Young People and Adults. This allows them to begin their healing journey through the medium of art, as well as to identify and regulate their emotions though colour therapy.

CULTURAL CAMPS

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

Justiz in the process of making arrangement to take Aboriginal participants back on country. The aim of Cultural Camps is to engage with local elders that will talk about traditional ways in accordance to the kinship model and provide discussion around the part Aboriginal people play around their inherited obligations to make country and people work and heal.

Aboriginal Elders will also do demonstrations on country. Local leaders and community will perform dances and tell traditional stories. Most participants have somewhere along the way lost contact with their country and people and are on their journey to reconnect with their people, Aboriginal Lore and cultural protocols.

EXTERNAL SUPPORT

AVAILABLE IN NEWCASTLE

Justiz is known to be the first point of contact in relation to local Aboriginal people seeking support including emergency and crisis support. Justiz Community has a wide spread of localised relationships with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal service providers
